About

The more I know, the more I know how little I know. And in a universe with trillions of galaxies, I’m honored to be here with you now. I am a writer. I am in college, studying government and history at Harvard University. I am a political pundit. I am a tutor. I am a soccer player and coach. I am obsessed with culture and geography. I am an art snob. I love astrophysics. I have a vast array of other interests—everything from graphic design to Rocket League to futuristic architecture to obscure topics like Maglev trains and nuclear fusion energy. And I split most of my time between Harvard, my apartment in Boston, and my hometown: Dallas, Texas.

My goal in life is to help others. I know what it’s like to be stuck in a netherworld of misery and depression and existential despair and suicidal ideation and everything else that scares you. So I decided to focus on doing what I can to help and inspire future generations, to steer them away from the types of horrors of my past. As such, I spent years devising contrived plans to find my role in life. But somehow—as a geek who loved every single class except for English (which I hated)—I found it in writing. I found it in the infinite freedom, expression, catharsis, and capacity to impact. Plus, since I am hopelessly tormented by thousands of obscure interests, blogging soon became how I open up the endless portals inside my head to others.

Still, there are very few things I’m sure of in life. All I really know for sure is that I love writing and I love the arts. I love experiencing them, I love pondering them, I love discussing them, I love reviewing them, and I love sharing such profound experiences with people like you. So, I try to cover both high-quality current works and “classics” alike. I try to keep things brief, so you’ll know that I’m reviewing something important when you see a long post. Just remember that I write all of my reviews alone—without any editors, proofreaders, or curators—while juggling Harvard classes, two jobs, and much more. So just don’t expect perfection! I can only spend a certain number of hours per week. But I hope that this website provides a nice way for us to share our tastes, ideas, and experiences!

    1. Looks like Nomadland is the heavy favorite right now, but you never know! Could be Mank or possibly a dark horse. Guess we’ll see how things pan out in the next few weeks in terms of media momentum and all.

    1. Ha thanks! I had a more personal one in the past but deleted most of it soon after in favor of a more slick, professional bio. But after thinking about it some more, I realized that maybe I should have a colorful bio to help my readers get a feel for my personality before they read my subjective (and sometimes highly personal) reviews. Ya know?

  1. This man who actually knows what he’s talking about comes around and leaves a like on my silly little for funsies music blogs and that’s pretty cool. Great stuff, Luke! Thanks for the support 🙂
